There is some great club history appearing in snippets in other threads so I have decided to start a thread dedicated to this subject.
If you have any stories/anecdotes/pictures/memories of the club then please post them here, you never know some of them may make the programme.

(mods. can you sticky this please)

OK, i'll start the ball rolling, below is a picture of Greenhills FC featuring among other people, my Granddad, Reg Matthews, front row, 2nd in from the left.
Im guessing its circa 1950?

Any idea of date Steve? and any chance of scanning in the whole report, this is exactly the sort of content we are looking for, for future programmes and website articles.

1970 or 71 I think, I've got a whole season of the Sports Gazette from that time, if you know someone who could scan them I could lend them to you, some are very fragile now but still readable...

I can scan or photograph the more fragile ones, just interested in the ones with HHTFC/Greenhills articles in them.
Can you bring them to the Oxford game on Monday?

They all have HHTFC articles in them, plenty of player info and pictures, managers views and loads of other stuff, also have around 50 programmes from the 50's and early 60's.

Going to be a big job then :frantic
Perhaps we could concentrate on say a month at a time so we can do "on this day in history" type articles.
Our last home game is 21/4/12 against Cirencester, if you have any old paper or programme articles from the same date/month could you bring them to the Oxford game and i will set about getting them scanned/photographed.

Cheers Darren

The football club was called Greenhills from 1948 up to the 1953 season - 1953 was also their first season in the Herts County League after moving from the West Herts League, they scored 154 goals in 28 games with a goal difference of 116. Prior to 1948 they had been called Brocks, then Adeyfield Athletic after 1953 until 1961 when they changed again to Hemel Hempstead United.
